Leona's Cornmeal Biscuits

Instructions

​

1. Preheat oven to 450F. 

​

2. Stir together flour, cornmeal, baking powder, garlic salt, and brown sugar. 

 

3. Mix in butter with hands until pea sized dough forms. Gently mix in buttermilk. 

​

4. Form into 1" thick rectangle on lightly floured surface. Cut into 8 equal pieces and share into golf ball shape.  

​

5. Bake on parchment-lined sheet for 15 minutes. Serve with honey butter or sliced open for a delicious bed for a breakfast sandwich.

1 1/3 c. flour

2/3 c. cornmeal

2 1 /2 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. garlic salt

1 tbs. brown sugar

8 tbs. unsalted butter (room temperature)

3/4 c. buttermilk
